We went to the doctor today for Buddy’s 9 month appointment.  We only waited close to an hour to see the doctor. (We had to swtich again because the doctor we loved switched offices.)  Anyhoo – the other doctor is nice, just not punctual.  Apparently when you have an M.D. you can run late and still charge a pretty penny for the visit. It isn’t like pizza delivery – 30 minutes or it’s free!

So the home health care nurse apparently measures inaccurately. (Honestly, I am not surprised.  I could write a few stories about her, but I won’t today.)  Buddy is NOT 30 inches – although he is still tall.  28 1/4 inches – which puts him in the 50th percentile for 9 month olds and the 75th-90th percentile with 7 month olds.  He is 18 pounds 4 ounces – which puts him in the 10th-25th percentile for 9 month olds.  His head circumference is 17 inches – 25th percentile. His growth chart looks great!

I learned it is completely okay that he is still waking up in the middle of the night to eat.  This doctor said he could never let babies really cry it out, but it is up to us now that Buddy is a little older.  (Yay!  Anti-cry it out!)  He wouldn’t recommend letting him cry for long in the middle of the night since that probably means Buddy needs to eat or be comforted, and he feels that is just fine for now.  He said most babies will outgrow the need for that  around a year or so.  I think that is it for the update.
